A wonderful aperitif, champagne goes well with very sweet desserts and less sweet fruit puddings and pies (apple, cherry), fruits baked in sugar with cognac, Armagnac, Calvados. Among hot dishes, poultry in cherry sauce, Japanese sushi and sashimi are excellent.
